What this site keeps.
This notice is for the public site of The British Saltbox. The controller is Ocanom Ltd, The British Saltbox is a trading name of Ocanom Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 16963342. Registered office: 128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX. Parcels are packed in London. That office is the registered office, not a studio. You can reach the house through the contact form.
The site is a catalogue of static pages, a basket that stays in your browser, and email if you choose to write. It does not create an account.
Pages and hosting
Opening a page does not ask you to sign in. The site is served as static files. The host may keep ordinary server logs — address, time, and the page requested — to keep the service running and to deal with abuse. We do not add our own analytics programme, advertising pixels, or a mailing-list form.
The basket
If you add a piece, the line is stored in this browser under the key
saltbox_cart. It holds the name, the price shown, the quantity,
and whether the line is one-time or a subscription. It stays on your device until
you choose to pay. Paying sends the line names, quantities, and any lid text or
gift message to Ocanom Ltd’s payment page. The card number is collected by
Stripe, not by this site. You can remove lines on the basket page, or clear the
site’s data in your browser.
The contact form asks for a name, an email address, and a message. Sending it confirms the note in your browser. The note is not sent to a server from this site yet, and the office address is not printed on the page. When a way to deliver the note is connected, this notice will say what is kept and for how long. We do not add an address to a marketing list from this site.
The concierge
The concierge listens only after you choose to start, and only for that conversation. The microphone is not opened by the homepage.
Payments
This site does not store the card number. Stripe takes the card, and Apple Pay or Google Pay when the device offers them, on the payment page opened from the basket. A bill is in the name of Ocanom Ltd. A charge is not taken until the food business is registered for the premises where the salt is packed.
Your rights
If you are in the United Kingdom, you can ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to our use of it through the contact form. There is no in-site account to export. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We will answer a request without asking you to create an account.
