Terms

The catalogue, and the contract.

These terms cover the public site of The British Saltbox, a house of Ocanom Ltd. The British Saltbox is a trading name of Ocanom Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 16963342. Questions that are asked often are answered on the FAQ, not copied here.

Reading the list

Descriptions, weights, origins, and prices are the catalogue. Prices are in pounds sterling. Adding a piece to the basket does not buy it. A sale is formed when payment is accepted on the basket page. Delivery is on the delivery page. Returns are on the returns page. Correspondence goes through the contact form.

Tasting notes are our judgement of the ingredient. They are not a promise that a dish will taste a particular way in your kitchen, and they are not a health claim. The salts are sodium chloride. The list is salt.

The basket

Adding a line keeps it in your browser. It does not reserve the piece. Payment is taken on the basket page, by card, and by Apple Pay or Google Pay when the payer’s device offers them. A recurring Salt Society plan and a one-time piece are separate charges. A prepaid gift is one charge, and the parcel does not show the price.

The words and the mark

The text, the photographs of the pieces, and the mountain mark belong to the house. You may link to the pages. You may not present the mark as your own, or copy the catalogue into another shop. The mark is the lockup in the header and the footer. It is not a picture of the salt.

When a sale is made

Contracts of sale, once they exist, are intended to be governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction. Those contracts will be the checkout terms, not this page. Nothing on the site limits a right you have as a consumer that the law does not allow us to limit.
